DAY 1: USA | COSTA RICA​

  • ¡Bienvenidos a Costa Rica! Your Forum Tour Manager will greet you at the airport and remain with your group for the duration of your trip.​
  • Transfer by private bus to meet your host family in Alajuela.​
  • While living with a host family, you will be fully immersed in the Spanish language and the “Tico” lifestyle. You will share in home-cooked dinners, meet locals and have an excellent opportunity to practice your Spanish on a daily basis. ​
  • Dinner and night accommodation with your host family.​

DAY 2: LA FORTUNA WATERFALL | ARENAL KAYAK​

  • ​After breakfast with your host family, discover the hidden secrets of La Fortuna Waterfall. Cross a suspension bridge by foot and then take a short hike to reach this jungle paradise. ​
  • Enjoy a boxed lunch.​
  • In the afternoon, embark on a kayaking adventure in Arenal! Enjoy the peaceful waters with the backdrop of Mount Arenal – an active volcano which erupted in 1968 after lying dormant for more than 400 years.​
  • Return to your host family for dinner and night accommodation.​

DAY 3: SPANISH CLASSES | SAN JOSÉ CITY TOUR

  • Enjoy breakfast with your host family.
  • Attend your morning Spanish class (8:00am – 11:00am).
  • Return to your host family for lunch.
  • In the afternoon, take a guided walking tour of San José.
  • Visit La Plaza de la Cultura bustling with daily life, then test your Spanish skills bargaining with local vendors at the flea market in La Plaza de la Democracia.
  • Return to your host family for dinner and night accommodation.

DAY 4: SPANISH CLASSES | SCHOOL VISIT |
DANCING & COOKING WORKSHOPS

  • After breakfast at home, attend Spanish class (8am – 11am).
  • Lunch with your host family.
  • After, visit a local school. Practice your Spanish and maybe even challenge your new friends to a soccer (fútbol) match!
  • Later, feel the beat of Costa Rica’s Latin rhythm as you participate in a salsa dance class!

  • Next, get ready for a cooking lesson with a member of the local community. Learn how to make traditional Costa Rican dishes such as patacones, empanadas or batidos!
    Return to your host family for dinner and night accommodation.

DAY 5: SPANISH CLASSES | LA PAZ WATERFALLS

  • After breakfast at home, attend Spanish class (8am – 11am).
  • In the afternoon, enjoy a boxed lunch at La Paz.
  • Next, take a tour of La Paz Waterfalls. As you wander the trails, you will be amazed by the five spectacular waterfalls that line your walk. Stop by the hummingbird garden, serpentarium, frog exhibit, Tica House and Trout Lake!.
  • Return to your host family for dinner and night accommodation.

DAY 6: SPANISH CLASSES | DOKA COFFEE TOUR | GRECIA & SARCHÍ

  • ​After breakfast at home, attend Spanish class (8am – 11am).
  • Return home for lunch.

  • Meet your group for a tour of Doka Coffee Plantation. Breathe in the aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans as the production cycle comes to life before your eyes – learn how coffee is grown, harvested, processed and produced.
  • Later, take a tour through Grecia, famous for its unique metal church and Sarchi, home of the world’s largest oxcart. Browse through Costa Rica’s most famous crafts center with more than 200 local shops and small family-operated woodworking factories.
  • Return to your host family for dinner and night accommodation.

DAY 7: SPANISH CLASSES | ZIP LINE TOUR​

  • Enjoy breakfast with your host family.​
  • Attend Spanish classes (8:00am – 11:00am). ​
  • Enjoy a boxed lunch.​
  • This afternoon, go on a canopy zip-line tour — 70% of life in the tropical forest takes place at the tree canopy level, and you´ll see it up close and personal as you fly via zip-line through the forest from platform to platform. ​
  • Return to your host family for dinner and night accommodation.​

DAY 8: MANUEL ANTONIO NATIONAL PARK

  • After breakfast, spend the day exploring Costa Rica’s most biologically diverse national park, Manuel Antonio National Park. Despite being Costa Rica’s smallest national park, the breathtaking beauty and wildlife diversity is unparalleled.
  • Enjoy a boxed lunch.
  • Spend the afternoon on the beautiful white beaches of the park.
  • Return to your host family for dinner and night accommodation.

DAY 9: DEPART

  • After breakfast, say “¡Hasta luego!” to your host family, then transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
