ITINERARY:

DAY 1: USA – PARIS

  • Fly overnight to Paris.

DAY 2: PARIS 

  • Bienvue en France! Upon arrival in Paris, your French Forum Tour Manager will greet you at the airport and remain with you for the duration of your tour.
  • Transfer by private bus to your hotel and drop off your bags.
  • This afternoon, stroll down the most famous avenue of the capital, the Champs-Elysées. Climb to the top of the Arc de Triomphe to admire the view. See the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
  • Have your first French meal at a local restaurant.
  • Night accommodation in Paris.

DAY 3: PARIS 

  • This morning, discover the Musée du Louvre. Its world renowned collection of art and antiquities includes the iconic Mona Lisa.
  • Later, visit the gothic Notre-Dame Cathedral. Climb the towers to see the view and catch a glimpse of the famous gargoyles.
  • Free time for lunch.
  • We will walk through le Trocadéro and view “la Ville Lumière” from the third floor of the Eiffel Tower.
  • Afterwards, board a glass-topped Bateau Mouche and enjoy a refreshing cruise on the Seine River.
  • Have dinner at a local restaurant.
  • Night accommodation in Paris.

DAY 4: VERSAILLES 

  • After breakfast, depart by RER train for Versailles, the extravagant Palace built for the Sun King.
  • Spend the morning at the Château de Versailles; walk in the footsteps of Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette as well as those of Presidents Jefferson and Wilson.
  • Enjoy some free time for lunch and return to Paris.
  • Spend your evening at Montmartre, locally known as ‘’la Butte,” one of Paris’ historical quarters. Climb the steps to visit the famous Sacré-Coeur and have dinner with your group
  • Night accommodation in Paris.

DAY 5: PARIS – REIMS – STRASBOURG 

  • This morning, board your private bus for Strasbourg.
  • En route, stop in Reims, the capital of France’s Champagne region.
  • Visit the Notre-Dame Cathedral, one of the great churches of France.
  • After lunch on your own, enjoy a guided visit to Champagne Taittinger cellars and learn how the monk Dom Perignon invented this sparkling wine. The oldest parts of the cellars are located on the site of Gallo-Roman, chalk mines that were dug in the 4th century.
  • Later, continue to Strasbourg for dinner and night accommodation.

DAY 6: STRASBOURG

  • After breakfast, see the timber-framed homes and wooden galleries of Old Strasbourg, la Place Kléber and the city’s historic core of la Petite France.
  • Then, discover Notre-Dame Cathedral, built in 1176 in red sandstone and making the transition between the Romanesque and the Gothic styles.
  • Free time for lunch. Be sure to be at the Astronomical Clock for the mid-day ringing of the bells.
  • This afternoon, visit the European Parliament finished in 1999. Its hemicycle, with a capacity of 750 places, hosts the monthly sessions of its members.
  • Dinner and night accommodation in Strasbourg.

DAY 7: EXCURSION IN COLMAR 

  • This morning, take the train to Colmar, the capital of the Haut-Rhin.
  • First, visit the Musée Bartholdi, the former home of the creator of the Statue of Liberty, now a museum of his work.
  • Enjoy some free time for lunch.
  • Next, visit the Musée d´Unterlinden, home to the retable d’Issenheim (Issenheim Altarpiece), painted by Matthias Grünewald, between 1512 and 1516, for St. Anthony’s Monastery.
  • Have some free time to discover le Quartier des Tanneurs, le Quartier de la Poissonnerie and la petite Venise.
  • Return to Strasbourg for your evening meal in a local restaurant and night accommodation.

DAY 8: STRASBOURG – PARIS 

  • Today after breakfast, board your private bus and transfer to the train station. Board your high-speed TGV Train to Paris.
  • Upon arrival in Paris, transfer to your hotel by private bus and check in to your hotel.
  • Take the rest of the afternoon to explore the city at your own pace and indulge in some shopping. Be sure to check out Printemps or Galeries Lafayette department stores, floors filled with things that you won’t find in department stores in North America.
  • Tonight, enjoy a farewell dinner. 
  • Later, enjoy a night stroll on the famous avenue of the capital, the Champs-Elysées.

DAY 9: DEPART 

  • After an incredible adventure, say a fond “Au Revoir” to your Tour Manager and transfer to the airport for your return flight back home.
