COURSE OF METHODOLOGICAL AND CULTURAL IMMERSION FOR TEACHERS OF SPANISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE

Since 1947, the CENTRO INTERNACIONAL DE ESPAÑOL (International Centre of Spanish) of the University of Málaga has been offering Spanish courses aimed at the spread of the Spanish language. The courses incorporate new technologies and the most innovative methods for teaching Spanish as a second language.

The University of Málaga opened its doors in 1972 and since the 1980s has been integral for professional development in Andalucía. The University of Málaga is a young and modern institution with more than 40,000 students enrolled in classes per year, including 6,000 foreign students. It goes with the international spirit of Málaga, a perennial destination of choice for those who are eager for new experiences!

Spanish level required: B2.

Number of hours: 60.

Certificate (included in the enrollment fee): to obtain the certificate, it is compulsory to attend at least 80% of the classes.

HOST FAMILY ACCOMODATION

Staying with a host family is the best option to learn and practice as much Spanish as possible during your stay. Choosing this option means that you will be immersed in the language on a daily basis as well as get to know Spanish people and culture.

To ensure your complete satisfaction, the host families have been carefully chosen. A family coordinator visits each home prior to the program to make sure they are pleasant and welcoming for all students. In addition, we thoroughly monitor your stay with the host family, and if for any reason your requirements are not met, we will change your host family. All our families are located no more than 20 minutes from our school by public transport. Some live within walking distance. You will receive a full description of the family, with pictures, names, addresses and phone numbers 10 days before your arrival.

LIFE IN MÁLAGA

The University of Málaga is located in the city of Málaga, the capital city of the Costa del Sol, on the eastern coast of Andalucía. Málaga is the birthplace of Picasso and home to some 500,000 inhabitants. The city has excellent transport infrastructure: a high-speed train, a seaport, a recently improved motorway network and international airport (AGP), which is the third busiest airport in Spain, with flights to Madrid taking just 45 minutes and to London or Paris, just 2 ½ hours. The bus and underground transport systems, together with bike lanes, make getting around the city easy. The city has a vibrant international atmosphere yet retains the charms of old world Andalucía with a beautiful pedestrian centre.
